Reasons for Site Inspection:
Accidental discovery of skeletons in napier street. Hwc alerted. No s38 approval required. But 35 did trigger. Hwc went on site to assist in recovery of skeletal material. SAHRA confirmed that the remains can be collected under heritage inspector powers.
Findings of Site Inspection:
Rich deposit of human remains and associated funery material. Trench dug in western pavement of napier street. A little 19th century material also evident in the trench. Hwc offcials in association with NK AND VG collected obviously disturbed bones. Bones will be visually described by
